Decisions
I got back to Linz today and picked up the bike. A new front wheel bearing has been fitted along with a new front tyre and tube.
But we have a new problem and it's that the rear wheel is suffering from major corrosion.
The mechanic and all the folks here helping have been great, but so far everyone has said it would be very dangerous to continue with the wheel the way it is. Consensus is that the wheel would probably make it home if taken gently, but wouldn't be up to Kathmandu. I'm not sure how i or the mechanic's who worked on the bike back home missed it, so maybe it's got worse with the high speed run. Worst case if the wheel collapses on the motorway somewhere which obviously wouldn't be good.
As i see it i have four options:
1) Find a secondhand wheel and fit it.
2) Buy a new rim if i can get one, then find a spoke builder who can work on it, and transfer across the caliper, sprocket, chain and gubbins.
3) Trundle home, maybe come back with the CBF.
4) Ignore the advice and keep running.
I did find a wheel on Ebay UK, so thought about flying back to pick it up then returning to fit it, but on sending an email to the seller they didn't think it would be up to the trip, which begs the question why they hell are they selling it in the first place.
I'll think on it tonight and try to source something if i can.

Option 4 is not an option I guess.
Why can't you just buy a new wheel?
